When ZDR3 receives a request for assistance, responders are deployed from zoological facilities who donate their employees’ time and the cost of their travel. Many responders also arrive with donated supplies for the impacted facility.
Those donations of time and resources are critical. But so are monetary donations to maintain the year-round, behind-the-scenes work that allows ZDR3 to act quickly when we receive a call for help.
Although ZDR3 depends on volunteers, our small paid staff is responsible for building and maintaining the ZDR3 Response Network, information gathering and data input, planning and preparedness, training, traveling to coordinate responses, and much more.
To maintain year-round operations and readiness, ZDR3 depends on two types of supporters:
Donor
An individual or organization that provides a one-time monetary contribution. Donors play a crucial role in supporting ZDR3's mission by donating to the ZDR3 general fund or helping fund a specific response.
Sponsor
An individual or organization that commits to providing annual financial support. Sponsorships ensure a stable source of funding, allowing ZDR3 to plan and execute its initiatives with greater confidence and continuity.
